part 1: Brand to AVM
connect your PC to the FBF via ethernet and change the IP settings of your PC to 192.168.178.XXX / 255.255.255.0

part 2: install a telnet image
download anf flash file telnet-ar7login-reset-debug.tar
reboot box
part 3: install the international firmware
establish a telnet connection (factory default IP of the FBF is 192.168.178.254): telnet 192.168.178.254
type in the following command: echo firmware_version avme > /proc/avalanche/env
copy recover.exe from the FBF CD (:\software\x_misc\) and the firmware files into the same directory
open a DOS box

reboot the box by unplugging the power cable
after 2 sec. execute the command
if this fails repeat 7. immediately
wait for the update being finished (could take up to 5 min.)
reboot the box by unplugging the power cable

enable telnet by dialing #96*7* a phone connected to „Fon 2“
your network cable should be connected to „LAN“ port now
establish a telnet connection (factory default IP of the FBF is 192.168.178.254): telnet 192.168.178.254
type in the following command: echo firmware_version avme > /proc/avalanche/env
run the program downloaded in the first step
fallow the instructions provided by the program
Just to mention - in my case (Windows XP SP2) the command line recovery tool returned an error. After several attempts I got to this approach.
